This is our first draft of a ITV advertising poster. We used a standard ITV poster template featuring the ITV logo to the center left of the page and an opaque arch on the lower right hand side of the poster containing all of the channel and documentary information. We have used photo shop to edit the ITV logo to match the colours of within the background image of the poster and we have used the green from the "i" in "itv" for the arch. For the channel information we have included: the title, the time and day for the documentary, the website, On-Demand options and a hashtag for our documentary to be used on social media.

This is a first draft of a Channel 4 poster. This uses the basic template of a standard Channel 4 advertising poster with the placement of the Title and start time of the documentary on the lower left hand side of the poster and places the Channel 4 logo in the center right hand side of the image. This image does not show the dog's emotion so obviously as it is difficult to decide whether his eyes are implying whether he is happy or not. Channel 4 documentaries are stereo-typically subjective (based on specific views) and in order to suit this, we would have to include some bias to our film. As our documentary aims to be objective we have decided not to use Channel 4 as the broadcaster for our film.
This is a sample poster we produced for our documentary. This poster is using the template of a standard BBC advertisement. We placed the title of the documentary in the bottom center of the page as do BBC posters. The BBC One logo has also been put in the top left of the poster as seen in many examples of BBC One posters. We used the font BEBAS as it has clear precise letters and is neither too formal nor too informal. A classic BBC One documentary tends to be objective (lacking a personal opinion) so we used this font as it does not trigger a specific emotion, as we also aim for our documentary to do. We are however, deciding not to use this poster as the image of the dog heavily implies the dog is content and happy. Even though we do not want to allow our documentary to be influenced by our own opinion, we do want to let the audience decide the tone of the documentary. As this image is quite positive we aim to use a picture which does not highlight the dogs emotion as much as this one does.
Below are 4 templates for possible plans for our double page spread TV advertisement. Poster 1: This poster follows the standard layout of a BBC poster for TV advertising. This poster features the title, date and time of the documentary at the bottom center of the page, the distributor's logo at the top of the poster (either in the center or to the left of the poster and one single image as the background of the poster.
Poster 2: This poster follows the standard layout of a Channel 4 poster for TV advertising. This poster features the title, time and date of the poster in the bottom left of the page and the Channel 4 logo in the center right of the poster. Filming at Holly Hedge allowed us to interview a member of staff on how they interact with the dogs. We also filmed footage of the dogs in the kennels and the kennel facilities themselves. Looking over the footage we gained from Holly Hedge, we lack enough footage to complete our documentary. We also do not have location images and all the images required for our poster/double page spread. We aim to return to Holly Hedge to collect the rest of this footage and images.
Rosie Bescoby has completed a helpful interview, answering all of our questions to the best of her knowledge. She gave an objective opinion on her views of rescue kennels and boarding kennels. As she was unable to be filmed, in our documentary we will be using another person to be recorded in her place. We have now received confirmation dates from The Pet Studio and Holly Hedge of when to film their facilities and interview a member of their staff. Once we have collected this footage we will begin editing our documentary.
Rosie Bescoby is a dog behaviourist recommended by John Lofthouse, due to him being unable to be interviewed. Rosie asnwered all of our questions but was also unable to be filmed. Due to this we have decided to verbally record Rosie's answers and include this in our documentary and will use her answers as a basis for our double page spread.
